Tactical Foodpack
Case

The cheapest pack isn't always the cheapest meal.

Food for places without a kitchen

Tactical Foodpack makes freeze-dried food in Estonia for hikers, expeditions and people on duty. In the shop, the buyer looks at the price of the pack. A few days later, in a forest or on a mountain, what matters is how many calories were in it and what it was made of.

The price tag tells half the story

Two packs can cost the same and give you very different amounts of energy. That makes one of them a lot more expensive than it looks. Now add seven countries, euros and Norwegian kroner, a different VAT rate in each and ingredient lists in seven languages. You can finish that comparison by hand exactly once. Next month you start again.

Price per 100 calories

Comprice compares Tactical's products with the competition the way a hungry person would, given a calculator and a lot of patience:

  • works out the price per 100 kcal, VAT removed and everything in one currency
  • reads competitors' ingredient lists in seven languages
  • knows that “may contain traces of” is an allergen warning, not an additive
  • gives each product a score from 0 to 100 within its group and shows where every point came from

AI reads, a rule decides

47
products in the index

countries

AI reads the ingredients, but it doesn't award the points. They come from a fixed rule, so the same data gets the same result every time. If a competitor's data is wrong, Tactical can fix it and the fix stays on record. If data is missing, the score says so instead of quietly marking the product down.

Run alone and you always finish first

One Tactical product scored 94. It had no competitors in its group. Comprice doesn't show that as a win, because first place on an empty track is easy. Every sales deck has a slide where the company comes first. This system won't draw that slide.
